Is this an appropriate place to request a retranslation of the earlier games? I feel like there's a lot lost with the translation of Yuyuko's wording.

I appreciate your efforts, but no, this is the wrong place entirely. I just compile pre-existing materials into one pack; all the hard work was done by others. (Technically, I have done OTLs on some individual lines from the HTML manuals, but that's all.)
You can try discussing this, or submitting alternate translations, on the thpatch wiki, though I've heard that they're a bit of a circlejerk and don't like when people correct them.

Regarding the captcha, yes, it is very easy. It's not meant to be a Japanese fluency check or anything, just a novel captcha to filter out bots and the lowest-effort spammers.
